On Saturday, September 21, 2024, a very special event took place at St. Katharina Grundschule Heinsberg: the 70th anniversary of our school!
Together with the open day, we celebrated this anniversary with a big school party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
At the beginning, our principal Ulrike Göbel-Kohtz warmly welcomed all guests, including the future first-year pupils of 2025/26, who received a specially compiled welcome bag as a gift.
The school community opened the celebration with the dance “Wir sagen Hello” and the song “Ganz gleich”, which was sung by all the children and created a festive and cheerful atmosphere.
There were numerous exciting stations for young and old on the school grounds.
The children were able to try their hand at an interactive school rally with iPads, programming BeeBots, small experiments, creative painting activities, soap making and face painting.
There was also a sporting Olympics in the school hall and a scooter driving test in the schoolyard.
Food and drink were also well catered for: a barbecue station, an ice cream van and the beer rondel ensured that no one went hungry or thirsty.
The party was accompanied by solo entertainer Micha, who kept everyone in a good mood and entertained.
A big thank you goes to all the parents, teachers, the OGS staff and, of course, the pupils who actively helped out and made the celebration an unforgettable experience.
Together, we spent a wonderful day that not only paid tribute to our school’s past, but also looked to the future.
We look forward to many more years of schooling and experiences together at St. Katharina Grundschule Heinsberg!
