Instruments, dancing, singing for every child

In cooperation with our school, the music school offers the JeKits project for all children in school years 1 to 4.

In the 1st school year, lessons are taught in tandems, i.e. one primary school teacher and one music school teacher form a team. This enabled intensive pedagogical attention.

In the In the 1st half of the school year, the children deal with melody, rhythm and time and experience how sounds are created. In the Instrument information is a central topic in the 2nd half of the year. The children get to know different instruments.

At the end of the 1st school year, the big decision for the 2nd class:

The children choose their 3 favorite instruments if they are interested. In one of these favored instruments, the students are given the opportunity to 2nd year instrumental lessons in small groups of 6 pupils on average. The children in Year 1 receive an information flyer about this.

The lessons take place in the differentiation room at St. Katharina Primary School.

Due to the timetable in the 2nd school year, it is possible that instrumental lessons may also take place after the 4th block.

When choosing instruments, make sure that they can also be played by children. Child-friendly instruments are:

  • Recorder
  • Transverse flutes (with a curved mouthpiece)
  • Guitars (child-sized instrument)
  • Violin (child-sized instrument)
  • Djembe (drum course)
  • Trumpet
