On Thursday, 04.07.24, St. Katharina Grundschule Heinsberg was awarded the School with Courage certificate in a festive ceremony.
The mayor and sponsor of the project, Björn Jarosz, and school councillor Britta Halbe also attended the event.
After a few words from the guests and Ms. Göbel-Kohtz, the whole school community sang and danced the song “Ganz gleich”.
Afterwards, Ms. Sprenger and Mr. Eberz from the municipal integration center presented the certificate for the School with Courage. These were accepted by Ms. Tigges (Chair of the School Board), Ms. Göbel-Kohtz, the two student representatives Mats Flöper and Tom Engelbertz as well as Ms. Halbe and Mr. Jarosz.
We are delighted that we can now officially call ourselves a “school with courage” and already have lots of ideas about how we can continue to put this into practice in the next school year.
