After a two-year break due to the pandemic, Grandparents’ Day was finally held again at St. Katharina Primary School. The festively decorated Schützenhalle, which the Schützenverein had made available for the celebration, filled up very quickly on Friday morning. The celebration began with a mass and was rounded off with a varied program.
All the grandparents found a seat and then enjoyed a leisurely breakfast with their grandchildren at the long, decorated table.
The parents, with the support of the teachers and the janitor, had already decorated the shooting room the day before. The parents also provided refreshments in the form of cake donations and sandwiches.
The Christmas atmosphere was quickly created by the Christmas plays performed by the third and fourth graders. Many performances and songs, which the first and second graders had also prepared, followed. At the end, everyone sang “Merry Christmas” together in a large group. The celebration ended with this Christmas message. The grandparents left the Christmas party with beaming faces and the shining eyes of the children also showed that the elaborate preparations had once again paid off.
Many thanks to all the helping hands who made this day possible.
