Chicks in the OGS

Over the past three weeks, chicks have been hatched in the OGS.
A total of 33 eggs were laid in the incubator. The children checked daily whether the temperature and humidity were right – with success. 29 eggs continued to develop and 26 chicks hatched.

Once the chicks were dry, they were moved to a small barn. For another week, they were able to watch the little ones grow, learn new things and develop. School classes also came to visit and look at the chicks.
The project was made possible by Mr. Korte, a farmer from Heggen. He then takes the chicks in and raises them. It is conceivable that the project will be repeated next year.
